Oops, meant to send this to the list...

OK, what I'm doing was Cyrille's good idea. It's documented
in #86375.
Basically, the idea is:
app/authors.h is the master list of contributors now (split
into authors/documentors).
The about box and --credits are generated from this (so, yes
they are hardcoded in at compile time). This is what the patch
I just submitted does.
I intend to submit another one which contains modifications to
the makefile stuff to auto generate AUTHORS from dia --credits.
But this will take me a while I think to learn all the automake
stuff. Hence why I'm submitting this patch first. I'd also like
the website credits to be auto-generated via a similar
mechanism if possible.
And whilst you may have 'no say' (I doubt this very much!) I'm
always willing to listen to criticism. I'm trying to help out
w/ Dia but am building up slowly and there's probably lots of
stuff I'm missing!
Cheers,
Andrew.
