What are your versions of:
automake (automake --version)
intltool (intltoolize --version)
gtk2 (pkg-config --modversion gtk+-2.0)
glib2 (pkg-config --modversion glib-2.0)
Compare these with the ones mentioned in the FAQ. It looks like you don't
have all of them installed, or very old versions. Or maybe a way too new
version of automake, I've heard of problems with version >1.4.
