Euch.. I hate replying and not knowing where all to send the
replies.. anyhow, guess I'll just spam three addresses :-)

[snipped lots of stuff I personally think sounds good]

Perhaps not. If the modified sendmail (as was mentioned in the
above snipped text) were to just check for an "X-HASHCASH="
header then the client need not be modified. A portable C program
could be written that generates a hashcash for the user. This way
certian unmodifiable email clients (most anything commerical)
could still be used, and still be compliant with hashcash. I would
be willing to bet shareware/freeware authors would be plenty glad
to help write code to further the hashcash idea. Even if the author
objects to the idea, third party plugins can be written for many
popuplar Windows email clients (Eudora, Pegasus, Outlook).

The average joe might also want to send love letters to his wife
though.. and I'm sure he would want those encrypted. Or maybe
the average joe sends erotic emails out to various "females" he
knows via the net. In any case, if the option is incorporated into
90% of the popular email clients, then I'm sure the average joe will
check that option for some if not all of his emails.

Thats just my take on it..
