could anyone tell me or point me in the direction of some info.. as to how
the encryption key is produced in Unix Password Encryption. ( password to be
encrypted uding DES )...

I have read reference materials and had a look at some source... ( which I
am struggling to grasp !!! ).. Hence I cannot manage to find this
information...

any help would be appreciated ..
