Interesting. Voting is more complex than it looks to the casual citizen.
There are several steps involved. Typically safeguards need to present
for most of them. US history is full of examples of voting fraud and abuse.
For example, I remember hearing about people from our suburb voting in
Chicago city elections. Some were dead.

1. Who is allowed to vote?
2. Who is allowed to run for office?
3. How are votes collected? If it is secret, how is anonymity preserved?
4. How are they delivered to the counting center?
5. Who can count them?

I'm sure there are other steps/issues to consider.
