Not a matter of being afraid of XML. More a case of I'd rather be doing wood
working than writing code. It's a matter of limited time and resources.
<smile>

But I did figure out what is going on with that error message and why I am
seeing it.

After creating and adding a shape to existing sheet, I exited and entered Dia,
and the shape no longer appears in the sheet. The only way to get the shape to
appear in the sheet is to click on the "Apply" button. It's not a big deal,
but the instructions weren't 100% clear. And since after "adding" it to the
sheet, it appeared to be there, the "Apply" option seemed unnecessary.

After using the apply button, and exiting and reentering Dia, I again get the
"Several object-types were named XYZ. - blah, blah, blah" - and here is what is
happening:

On the Windows version of Dia (and it could be different on Linux), after
creating the shape, clicking on the Apply button, "something" creates a
duplicate .shape and .png file in the <install_path>\dia\.dia\shapes directory.
So there are indeed two objects named whatever. Once I remove the .shape and
the .png files in the <install_path>\dia\.dia\shapes directory, the error goes
away, and Dia works the way I would expect it to work.

I don't know what process is adding the extra .shape and .png files. I don't
know if you see this on the Linux side (still testing on Windows), AND I don't
if this consititutes a bug, but it is a problem on the Windows side.

Turns out there are lots of things I don't know. But at least I know what is
causing this issue and how to "clear it up".
