With a bunch more changes, I managed to get Dia into a compiled state under
Gtk 2.0. However, when I run it, I get the following:
Starting program: /home/lrclause/src/dia-gtk2.0/app/dia
dia (pid:21806): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkbox.c: line 360 (gtk_box_pack_start): assertion `child->parent == NULL' failed
dia (pid:21806): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkitemfactory.c: line 688 (gtk_item_factory_get_widget): assertion `GTK_IS_ITEM_FACTORY (ifactory)' failed
dia (pid:21806): ** WARNING **: Can't find menu entry '<Toolbox>/File/Quit'!
This is probably a i18n problem (try LANG=C).

140 return menus_get_item_from_path(N_("<Toolbox>/File/Plugins"),
This even after I hacked the xml-i18n stuff to work (didn't define
XML_I18N_TOOLS_PERL). This seems to indicate deeper problems. Is there
any interest in further work on this yet?
