I'd like to help, but I'm afraid the extensive hand-holding involved would
probably wind up taking more of your time than writing the code yourself.  I'll
start poking around on (only) the UML class extent problem problem for now, and
I'll let you know if I come up with a patch.  If you write it before I do,
please let me know.
