What I'd like to see is, and I suspect many CodherPlunks would also, is the
L5 algorithm to be made available, even if for analysis purposes only, so
the cryptographic community can evaluate the algorithm themselves.
Perhaps a NDA can be worked out which allows full disclosure of any
weaknesses found. It would protect the algorithm if it is strong, but does
not block the disclosure of any weaknesses. If your company is as sure of
your product as it appears to the media, this shouldn't worry Jaws
Technologies.
Before you cite your recent "contest" I would like to refer you to part 2
of the sci.crypt FAQ question 2.3.
<http://www.faqs.org/faqs/cryptography-faq/part02/> Also Matt Curtin's
Snake Oil FAQ might explain why some people have had a cold reaction to
your product. <http://www.faqs.org/faqs/cryptography-faq/snake-oil/>
