Hello,
I have just been reading the papers published in the Fast Software
Encryption publications and after looking at various algorithms eg RC5 - I
am facsinated by the follwing:
+ The algorithms for encryption and decryption are *so simple*.I cannot
figure out the logic behind them. What I am trying to say is that all i can
see is some bit manipulation going on - but I notice that each algorithm
proposes a different way to do it.Hence what are the conditions that
determine how the bits are to be switched..is there any math logic to this
i.e actually proving that switching/shifting bits in one way is more
"secure" that in some other?
+ Does anyone know if the papers included in the Fast Software Encryption
publications are on the web i.e in a centralized location? If so could you
please give me the URL.
I know the above questions dont relate to coding ..however even though I
grasp the algorithms to implement them , i cannot grasp the concept behind
them or their conception..rather like knowing the formula to Universal
Law of Gravitation , but not knowing what Newtons Framework of mind was
for coming up with such a thing.
Yours Sincerely,
Hafeez Bana.
