There are currently no patents, awarded or pending, for Twofish. We have talked about applying for a patent for some of the ideas in Twofish, both as a PR move and as a defensive measure against someone patenting the ideas after us. (Note that RSADSI has patented data-dependent rotations, even though they are in older algorithms.) You have my personal guarantee that Twofish will always be completely free and unlicensed for any reason whatsoever.

And the source code on the Counterpane website is copyright free.
