I'm especially interested in point number 3 above.
What would the computer industry be like under these conditions?
Would it be more or less innovative?
Would more people be employed or less?
How would business customers be impacted?
What would be the impact on the United States vs the World?
Should patents be banned as well?
Should the GNU philosophy apply to other industries?
