Actually, most of them rely on really crappy proprietary encryption /
access-denial schemes. Access'97, for example, simply XOR's the
plaintext password with some known bytes at the beginning of the file.
Most of the others are about the same level of difficulty. Only Word &
Excel for office '97 and the PKZIP cracker use dictionaries.
