In connection both with my law suit against the enforcement of theexport
regulations relating to encryption software and with my course in
computing and the law, I believe it would be a big help if I could
understand the dc instructions that are implemented in Adam Back's
version of RSA in two or three lines of perl.
I can sort of write perl, but I certainly have difficulty in reading it,
especially when it is written by minimalist artists like Back & Company.
And, although I have dc as well as perl sitting on my office Linux box
and have thus been able to run the perl program, I have never found
any instructions that I can understand on how to use dc---I have the
man pages but they are rather cryptic for one like myself who has never
used a reverse Polish notation calculator (all I could ever afford was
a TI calculator) or written a line of Forth code. All I know about dc
is that it is a digital calculator that can be used to calculate values
with any degree of precision that one desires.
I thus would be very grateful if anyone could tell me the actual set
of dc instructions that are embedded in the perl code. And, for my
own continuing education, I would also appreciate it if someone could
tell me where I can find a simple explanation, with examples, on how to
instruct the dc calculator.
Thanks,
Peter
