I assume everyone here remembers BBS's, ISP's, etc.

There's nothing to stop you from calling into an ISP or BBS long distance
from afar and downloading the stuff either.

Also, most of those lame scripts just check to see if your a top level
domain through reverse dns, nothing complicated.. there are .com sites in
other countries.
