I tried editing the Dia file but instead of line breaks they came out as
blank boxes to represent an unknown character []
I was slightly surprised that the Text object in Dia decides line
breaks based on there being line breaks in the actual file itself
rather than a having some sort of a tag to specify a newline.
I would suggest that you file a feature request but I think there are
several generalised bugs about text, object resising and group that if
fixed would solve your problem which is really just symptomatic of some of
the features of Dia.
