Re: How to insert 'dia'grams into Star Office 5.2 text document

It was discussed about a month ago.

There are two ways: more correct and more "user-friendly".

More correct way: import into eps. Then fix eps using ps2epsi - this
will add preview bitmap (BTW, is dia going to do it itself one day?)
Then, import eps into SO. Probably (sometimes?), on the screen you'll
get something strange - but on printer it is usually ok.

Another way: Take the eps from dia into gimp. Save as png.

Hint: be sure that page scale in dia is 100 but not "Fit". Otherwise the
quality of eps will be poor.

I think dia should include preview into its eps files (optionally?). We
are talking about the products intended for non-technically oriented
people (I mean dia + SO), so the inegration path should be as short as
possible (as long as boths dia and SO do not support bonobo). They are
not compilers or network administration tools. Any secretary or manager
would be slightly upset if you tell them: "After you export this image
from dia, run ps2espi in your shell". The ways like this are not going
to bring popularity to linux desktop:)

Cheers,

Sergey
