Cannot execute after compiling

Hi,

I compiled dia version 0.88.1, which went fine, and I could run it fine 
from the compilation directory (./app/run_dia.sh). But when I do a make 
install, it crashed with this error:
"Couldn't find standard objects when looking for object-libs, exiting..."

Anyone have any ideas? I'm using Slackware 8.0.
